The African CEO Media Corporation recently hosted an award ceremony in Freetown, celebrating outstanding public sector initiatives across Sierra Leone. We are proud to share that WellFound Sierra Leone was honoured with the prestigious “Award for Humanitarian Service.”

Nominated by fellow charities and government officials, and selected by a panel of judges, this award recognises the tangible, community-driven impact of our work. Our Country Director, Andrew Mustapha, accepted the award on behalf of the organisation. In his remarks, Andrew said:

“This recognition is more than an honour—it is a testament to the meaningful impact we have made in the lives of the resilient men, women, and children of Kargboro Chiefdom. Our work has focused on water and sanitation, hygiene promotion, and the economic empowerment of communities through training in construction, maintenance, and market gardening, all underpinned by village savings schemes.

We have also supported communities in building collective prosperity, fostering collaboration between men and women, and helping to mitigate the effects of climate change. It is heartwarming to see these efforts acknowledged by such a respected organisation.” “Receiving this award from the African CEO Media Corporation symbolises the power of community-led development. This recognition motivates us to expand our reach and serve even more communities in urgent need.”
